About Richard Elmes

A graduate of Christ’s College, Cambridge with an MA in modern & medieval languages and linguistics. Since leaving university, I continually worked for IT hardware and software companies: first as a software salesman with a number of solution providers ending at  IBM Retail Store Solutions. It was at IBM that I first adopted a marketing role. Initially, I worked within the channel sales business identifying, recruiting and training new IBM software business partners.

Then I moved into more of a supporting role within the channel, assisting with trade fairs, in-house events and symposia. Travelling frequently and to many different countries I built up a large and professional network of solution providers, equipping them with the collateral, funding and support to increase sales of the IBM’s first Windows-based SurePoS 500 range of point of sale systems.

Later marketing roles include Senior EMEA Marketing Manager IHS Energy,  ISV Partner Marketing Manager for Micro Focus and  most recently,  Head of Marketing at Box Technologies.
